When you are asked to make a pledge to the United Way through employee contributions, you may designate your own choice of a non-profit organization for all or part of your United Way donation. We, at Saint Christopher School, hope that you will choose to name our school as the recipient of part or all of your donation. Our United Way Agency Number for United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut is AG0953-3 *.
We like to thank our donors so, please check the box about notifying the agency. If that box is checked, United Way will provide the school with the name of the company, employee, and amount of the donation. If the box is not checked, the donation does come to Saint Christopher School, but is noted as “Anonymous”.
By using this method of contribution, you can fulfill your company’s request for a United Way contribution and you can help the Saint Christopher School Annual Fund. This fund helps St. Chris with all its operating expenses such as textbooks, supplies, heat, utilities, and countless other necessities. We hope that you will join the other Saint Christopher School families who, over the years, have chosen to use this method of giving. We are very grateful for the donations in past years. Last year’s United Way donations were invaluable to the school’s meeting its goal for the 2016-2017 Annual Fund Campaign.
If you have any questions or would like additional information, please call the Saint Christopher School Advancement Office at 860-568-4100 during the school day or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks for your continued support,

Did you graduate from Saint Chris, Saint Rose, or Saint Mary’s? – Saint Chris is trying to keep the Catholic school tradition alive in East Hartford. We have managed to keep in touch with most of the Saint Chris’ alumni, but there are some who we just plain have lost track of over the years. We are also trying to get records in place for Saint Rose and Saint Mary alumni too.
If you are an alumnus of any of these schools and did not receive our latest issue of The Connection, chances are you may be one of missing. If you are, just e-mail me a note at email@example.com or send a note to me at Saint Christopher School, 570 Brewer Street, East Hartford, CT 06118.
Some of the alumni from Saint Rose or Saint Mary’s have sent their children to Saint Chris. We may have you in our database as a parent, past parent, grandparent, or parishioner, but we would also like to note that you are graduate of one of these schools.
Please let us know that by either e-mailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org or send a note to me at Saint Christopher School, 570 Brewer Street, East Hartford, CT 06118.
If you are interested in helping us in our search for alumni, please consider becoming a member of the Alumni Council. Members of the Alumni Council will work with staff and School Board members on developing and promoting future alumni events.
We are looking for some people to help us in connecting with our alumni through some of the social networking vehicles like Face Book and Twitter.

Our History – Saint Christopher School was built in 1963 under the direction of the late Reverend Henry J. Murphy, pastor of Blessed Sacrament parish of which Saint Christopher parish was a mission. The school was dedicated on August 17, 1963.
The Sisters of Jesus Crucified agreed to staff the school and continued to do so until June of 1989. The school opened in September 1963 with three classes of grade six. By 1966, the school had three classes each of grades six, seven, and eight. The school’s first graduating class in 1966 had 110 students go on to high school. This structure remained until 1972, when grade five was added.
In September 1988, grades one and four were added along with a full day Kindergarten. Further expansion occurred the following September when grades two and three were added. Thus, in September 1989, Saint Christopher School opened its doors to students from kindergarten through grade eight.
In September 1995, a pre-school consisting of three and four year olds was incorporated into the existing program. In 2010, a full-day pre-school program was added for four year old children and in 2012, a full-day preschool program for three year olds was started.
In response to the needs of families, an After School Program was begun in 1992 to provide care for children after school dismissal. A director was hired to manage the program with assistants as staff members. The program provides a safe, stimulating atmosphere for students after school.
Co-op (Volunteer) Hours – Each K-8 family is responsible for ten co-op hours and each PreK family for five co-op hours completed for the school during the school year. Throughout the year there are opportunities to complete co-op hours by helping with events at the school, doing work from home, and other tasks that come up throughout the year. If a family does not fulfill the required co-op hours, they will be assessed $25.00 per hour not met, up to $250.00.
The co-op hours are tracked. Coop hours must be submitted in order to receive credit. Please use form below to report hours. If you have questions or suggestions please contact the Co-Op Coordinator, Danielle Vargas, via email at email@example.com. If you need a statement of hours, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and Danielle will be happy to send you a current statement.
